About this trip

This trip is an amazing opportunity to see our nation's capital up close and personal.  Students will have a blast experiencing the sights and sounds of our capital city.  The trip will enhance their knowledge and understanding of our history and government through educational travel.  It's a fantastic way to learn. 

Please note the trip price is based on 45 people per bus and may be adjusted depending on the actual number of people per bus at time of departure.


Trip Price

Trip price is currently set at $668 per person in a quad room.  However, price may vary depending on the number of people in your room as well as the total number of people on each bus.  Adjustments may be made using the following scale:


# of people per bus 45, 40, 35 , 30

Quad room 668, 706, 755, 820

Triple room 720, 758, 807, 872

Double room 824, 862, 911, 976

Single room 1136, 1174, 1223, 1288

What's included

Transportation

Transportation via deluxe motor coach.

4 star hotels

To ensure student safety, we only stay at quality, trusted hotels.

Bottled Water

It's important to stay hydrated so we supply an abundance of water throughout the trip.

Tickets and Admissions

All tickets except for the free day on Friday are included.

Meals

Some meals are included and some are not. Please see the itinerary for details.

What's not included

Souvenirs

Trip members must purchase their own souvenirs.

Snacks and drinks

We plan to make a stop for students to pick up some snacks or drinks if they choose.

Friday morning/afternoon

Families will have an opportunity to explore on their own. Please see the itinerary for more details.

Eat supper before arriving

6:00 pm - Devotions

6:15 pm - Board Motorcoach at the school  8840 Byron Center Ave SW, Byron Center, MI 49315

- Rest stop enroute to Breezewood, PA at the Post House (mile marker 140)

Drive through the night with a few stops along the way.

Memorials and Arlington National Cemetery

5:00 a.m. South Mountain Eastbound Welcome Center - time to freshen up,

5:30 a.m. Depart for Cracker Barrel 

6:00 a.m. Breakfast stop (on your own), Cracker Barrel, Frederick, Va 7408 Shockley Dr. Frederick, MD 

7:00 a.m. Depart for Arlington National Cemetery

  • Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

  • Arlington House

  • Several gravesites will be visited including the Kennedy Gravesites

  • Iwo Jima Memorial

11:00 a.m. Depart for the 9/11 Pentagon Memorial

12:00 p.m. Depart for lunch at the Pentagon Mall Food Court (on your own)

1:00  p.m. Depart for the National Archives

3:00 p.m. Depart for the Museum of the Bible

5:00 p.m. Depart for a Memorial Tour:  Jefferson, FDR, MLK Jr.

6:30 p.m. Board Motorcoach and head for the hotel

7:00 p.m. Pizza Party (provided)

8:00 p.m. Story Time with Ole Bess

7:00 a.m. Breakfast at the hotel (provided)

8:00 a.m. Depart for a White House and Washington Monument Picture Stop

9:00 a.m. Depart for the US Capitol (via LOC entrance)

  • Group picture 

  • Supreme Court Picture Stop

  • Library of Congress (10:00 tickets)

  • Tour the Capitol Building (11:40 tickets)

1:00 p.m. Lunch in the Capitol Visitors Center (on your own)

3:00 p.m. Depart for the National Cathedral  (3:15 timed tickets - must be on time)

4:00 p.m. Souvenir shopping at Abe’s Gifts

5:00  p.m. Depart for Dinner at Ronald Reagan International Trade Center (on your own)

6:00 p.m. Depart for a Memorial Tour:  WWII, Lincoln, Korean and Vietnam

8:00 p.m. Depart for the hotel

7:00 a.m. Breakfast at the hotel (provided)

8:30 a.m. Board motorcoach with all bags and items -check out of the hotel

9:30 a.m. Friday Free Day

  • Ford’s Theatre (Only the Petersen House is available 

  • Smithsonian Museums

    • Air & Space - tickets required 

    • American History

    • American Indian

    • Natural History

    • Zoo 

  • African American History & Culture 

  • National Air and Space Museum - Dulles Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center


5:00 p.m. Board motorcoach at The American History  Museum - National Mall Side  

there will be no stops until supper, so be sure you use the restroom and have a good snack.

8:00 p.m. Dinner stop (on your own), Breezewood, PA (switch drivers)

9:00 p.m. Board motorcoach, drive through the night
