About this trip

Students will reinforce what they have learned in 8th Grade US History while they travel for 6 days and 5 nights to  Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Gettysburg, and Hershey Park.  It's a trip of a lifetime as they experience Arlington Cemetery, the Lincoln Memorial, Independence Hall, Gettysburg Military Park and so much more.

We celebrate the trip by having a blast at the award winning Hershey Park.

All transportation requirements from the school and back to the school again.

Night time security

Security at the hotel is included.

All tips and gratuities

Students won't have to worry about tipping servers, drivers, etc..

3-4 star hotels

We stay at 3-4 star hotels.

Bottled Water

It's important to stay hydrated so we supply an abundance of water.

Tickets and Admissions

All tickets and admission prices are included.

Souvenir T-Shirt

Participants will receive a souvenir t-shirt provided by American History Tours.

Trip members must purchase their own souvenirs.

Trip members are welcome to pack drinks and snacks or to purchase them during the trip.

Trip Insurance

Trip insurance is not included but is available for purchase. Purchase must be made within 14 days of registration.

5:00 a.m. Meet at the school 

5:30 a.m. Depart for Washington, DC

1:00 p.m. Lunch provided at an appropriate rest area

6:00 p.m. Dinner at Pentagon Fashion City Mall food court

7:00 p.m. Memorial Tour:  Pentagon 9/11 Memorial, Jefferson, FDR, MLK Jr.

9:00 p.m. Depart for the Hotel:

Thursday June 3rd

7:00 a.m. Breakfast

8:00 a.m. Depart for Arlington National Cemetery

  • Tomb of the unknown soldier

  • Kennedy Graves

  • Space Shuttle Memorial

  • Wreath Ceremony

  • Iwo Jima Marine Memorial.

11:30 a.m. Depart for Mount Vernon, home of General George Washington

  • Lunch

  • Mansion Tour

  • Grounds Tour

  • George Washington’s Burial Site

  • Slaves of Mount Vernon Memorial

  • Education Center

2:30 pm Depart for the Udvar - Hazy Center

  • Space Shuttle Discovery

  • Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird

  • Boeing B-29 Enola Gay

  • And so much more in this huge Space museum

5:00 pm Depart for Dinner at Reagan International Trade Center

6:30 pm Memorial Tour:  WWII, Lincoln, Vietnam, Korean

8:30 p.m. Depart for our hotel

8:00 a.m. Depart for the Washington Monument and the White House

10:00 a.m. Depart for the Capitol Building

  • Lunch inside the capital

  • Capitol Tour

  • Library of Congress Tour

  • Supreme Court Picture Stop

1:00 pm Depart for the Smithsonian Museums

Choices:

  • Smithsonian American History Museum

  • Smithsonian Natural History Museum

3:00 pm Depart for  Ford’s Theatre

  • Ranger Talk or One Destiny Play (depending on availability)

5:00 pm Depart for Medieval Times Dinner Tournament & Theatre

11:00 a.m. Independence Hall - 

Site of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution

  • Guided Tour

  • Essentials Room

  • Tomb of the Unknown Revolutionary War Soldier

Let’s honor our fallen heroes of the Revolution

at the mass grave located in Washington’s Square.

12:30 p.m. Lunch at Philly Gourmet Steaks

  • When in Philly, you gotta have a Philly Steak sandwich although there are plenty of other options as well.

1:30 p.m. Constitution Center

  • Freedom Rising Live Performance Show

  • Signer’s Hall

  • Main Constitution Exhibit

3:00 p.m. The Franklin Institute - An amazing interactive science museum

5:00 p.m. Double Decker Bus Ride 

includes a stop at the Philly Museum of Art to run up the “Rocky Steps”

(traffic permitting)

6:30 p.m. Depart for dinner at Dave & Busters

8:00 p.m. Depart for our Harrisburg hotel

  • 1 - 2 Hour Battlefield Tour

12:00 pm Depart for Hershey Park

  • Boxed lunch on the way

    • The Boardwalk (their waterpark)

    • The Hershey Zoo
