About this trip

This trip is an amazing opportunity to see our nation's capital up close and personal.  Students will experience the sights and sounds of nations capitol first hand.  The experience will enhance their knowledge and understanding of our history and government through educational travel.  It's a fantastic way to learn. 


What's included

Meals

All meals are included except the first lunch on the way to Gettysburg.

Transportation

Transportation via deluxe motor coach.

Night time security

Students and parents will feel better knowing a professional security team will be watching over us over night.

All tips and gratuities

Students won't have to worry about tipping servers, drivers, etc.. as it is included.

3/4 star hotels

To ensure student safety, we only stay at quality, trusted hotels.

Bottled Water

It's important to stay hydrated so we supply an abundance of water throughout the trip.

Trip members must purchase their own souvenirs.

Snacks and drinks

We plan to make a stop for students to pick up some snacks or drinks if they choose.

8:00 a.m. Depart for Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA

  • Iwo Jima Marine Memorial

  • Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

  • Kennedy Graves

  • Among other graves

  • Arlington House


1:15 p.m. Depart for Lunch Pentagon City Mall Food Court

2:30 p.m. Depart for the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, 100 Raoul Wallenberg Pl SW, Washington, DC 20024 (3:00 tickets)

4:30 p.m. Depart for a memorial tour:  WWII, Vietnam, Lincoln, and Korean Memorials

 

6:15 p.m. Depart for Dinner at Carmines: 425 7th Street NW | Washington, D.C. 

7:45 p.m.  Depart for the hotel, we’ll be at this hotel the next two nights.

Wednesday, April 22

7:00 a.m. Breakfast

8:15 a.m. Depart for Mount Vernon home of General George Washington, 

3200 Mount Vernon Memorial Hwy, Mt Vernon, VA 22121

Mansion tour (9:55 reservation) 

11:30 a.m. Lunch at Mount Vernon Gristmill Buffet

12:15 pm Depart for the Capitol Building 

(Drop off at Garfield Circle ℅ Maryland and 1st SW.)

  • Group Picture in front of the Capitol

  • Capitol Visitors Center Museum see the following:

  • DC through time series

  • Plaster mold of the statue called Freedom

  • Capitol Tour reservation:  2:00 and 2:10

  • Picture stop at the Library of Congress and Supreme Court


3:30 p.m. The bus picks us up at the Peace Monument at 1st and Pennsylvania NW.

3:30 p.m. Depart for the African American Museum of History and Culture

5:00 p.m. Depart for an evening memorial tour….The White House, 

Washington Monument, MLK Jr. Memorial, and Jefferson Memorial

6:30 p.m. Depart for a pizza party and swimtime at the hotel

8:00 p.m. Story time with Ole Bess




Day 4

8:30 Depart for a White House picture stop

9:00 Depart for the Museum of the Bible, 400 4th St SW, Washington, DC 20024

11:00 Depart for the National Mall Smithsonian Museum of choice, 

The bus will drop us off on Madison Ave.

  • American History Museum or the Natural History Museum

  • Lunch on your own at the museums or food trucks (money provided)

  • Gift shops in the museums

1:30   Depart for the National Cathedral  2:10, 2:15, and 2:35 tours
