About this trip

Students will reinforce what they have learned in 8th Grade US History while they travel for 6 days and 5 nights to  Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Gettysburg, and Hershey Park.  It's a trip of a lifetime as they experience Arlington Cemetery, the Lincoln Memorial, Independence Hall, Gettysburg Military Park and so much more.

We celebrate the trip by having a blast at the award winning Hershey Park.

What's included

Meals

Meals are included except the first day as well as dinner the last day.

Transportation

All transportation requirements from the school and back to the school again.

Night time security

Security at the hotel is included.

All tips and gratuities

Students won't have to worry about tipping servers, drivers, etc..

3-4 star hotels

We stay at 3-4 star hotels.

Bottled Water

It's important to stay hydrated so we supply an abundance of water.

Tickets and Admissions

All tickets and admission prices are included.

Souvenir T-shirt

Participants will receive a souvenir t-shirt provided by American History Tours.

Souvenirs

Trip members must purchase their own souvenirs.

Snacks and drinks

Trip members are welcome to pack drinks and snacks or to purchase them during the trip.

Trip Insurance

Trip insurance is not included but is available for purchase. Purchase must be made within 14 days of registration.

  • 5:30 Meet at the school

  • 6:00 Depart for Washington, DC

  • 1:00 Lunch - self provided sack lunch or purchase at the rest area (on your own)

  • 6:00 Dinner at Pentagon Fashion City Mall food court (on your own)

  • 7:00 Memorial Tour:  Memorial Tour:  Jefferson, FDR, MLK Jr.

  • 9:00 Depart for the Hotel:

Wednesday May 6th

  • 7:00 a.m.         Breakfast

  • 8:00 a.m.         Depart for Arlington National Cemetery

    • Tomb of the Unknown Solider

    • Kennedy Graves

    • Space Shuttle Memorial

    • Wreath Ceremony

    • Iwo Jima Marine Memorial

  • 12:00 pm         Depart for the Capitol Building

    • Lunch inside the Capitol

    • Capitol Tour

    • Library of Congress Tour

    • Supreme Court Picture Stop

 

  • 4:00 pm           Depart for a White House Picture Stop

  • 5:00 pm           Dinner at Reagan International Trade Center

  • 6:30 pm           Memorial Tour:  WWII, Lincoln, Vietnam, Korean

  • 8:30 p.m.         Depart for our hotel

  • 10:00 a.m..      Liberty Bell Exhibit

  • 11:00 a.m.       Christ Church and Christ Church Burial Ground

  • 12:00 p.m.       Lunch at Philly Gourmet Steaks

  • 1:00 p.m.         Independence Hall

    • Guided Tour

    • Essentials Room

    • Tomb of the Unknown Revolutionary War Soldier

  • 3:00 p.m.         Constitution Center

    • Freedom Rising Live Performance Show

    • Signer’s Hall

    • Main Constitution Exhibit

  • 4:30 p.m.         Double Decker Bus Ride

Includes a stop at the Philly Museum of Art to run up the “Rocky Steps”

  • 12:00 pm Depart for Hershey Park Open 11 to 8

  • 8:00 pm Hershey Park Closes

  • Shopping at Chocolate World (our meeting place) meet in the back where the dining is located within the store at @ 8:00 with your shopping already done.

  • 8:35 pm Depart for Best Western Premier, Harrisburg
