About this trip

Students will reinforce what they have learned in 8th Grade US History while they travel for 6 days and 5 nights to Washington, D.C., Williamsburg, Philadelphia, Gettysburg, and Hershey Park.  It's a trip of a lifetime as they experience the U.S. Capitol, Smithsonian museums, the Lincoln Memorial, Jamestown Settlement, Independence Hall, Gettysburg Military Park and so much more.

We celebrate the trip by having a blast at the award-winning Hershey Park.

What's included

Meals

Meals are included except lunch the first day as well as dinner the last day.

Transportation

All transportation requirements from the school and back to the school again.

Night time security

Security at the hotel is included.

All tips and gratuities

Students won't have to worry about tipping servers, drivers, etc..

3-4 star hotels

We stay at 3-4 star hotels.

Bottled Water

It's important to stay hydrated so we supply an abundance of water.

Tickets and Admissions

All tickets and admission prices are included.

Souvenir T-shirt

Participants will receive a souvenir t-shirt provided by American History Tours.

Trip members must purchase their own souvenirs.

Snacks and drinks

Trip members are welcome to pack drinks and snacks or to purchase them during the trip.

Trip Insurance

Trip insurance is not included but is available for purchase. Purchase must be made within 14 days of registration.

  • 4:30 Meet at the school

  • 5:00 Depart for Washington, DC

  • 12:00 Lunch - self provided sack lunch or purchase at the rest area (on your own)

  • 6:00 Dinner at Pentagon Fashion City Mall food court (on your own)

  • 7:00 Memorial Tour:  Memorial Tour:  Jefferson, FDR, MLK Jr.

  • 9:00 Depart for the Hotel: 

 

Day 2

US Capitol, White House Photo stop, Smithsonian Museum, Memorial Tour

 

Wednesday May 5th

7:00 a.m. Breakfast

8:00 a.m. Depart for the Capitol Building

  • Capitol Building Tour (Shoot for 9:00 am tour)

  • Library of Congress Tour

  • Supreme Court Picture Stop

12:30 p.m. Lunch at Union Station (Voucher will be provided)

1:30 p.m. White House Picture Stop

2:30 Explore the Museums (Museum choices)

  • Museum of Natural History, Museum of American History, National Gallery of Art, National Sculpture Park

5:00 p.m. Dinner at Reagan International Trade Center (Voucher will be provided)

6:00 p.m. Memorial Tour:  WWII, Lincoln, Vietnam, Korean

8:30 p.m. Depart for our hotel:

Thursday May 6th Williamsburg / Colonial Virginia

8:00 am Depart for Jamestown Settlement

10:30 am Self-Guided exploration of the Jamestown Settlement & Museum,

  the very first permanent English settlement

12:30 am Lunch at the Jamestown Cafe

1:00 pm Depart for Colonial Williamsburg

1:30 am Tour of Colonial Williamsburg, world's largest living museum

  • Governor’s Mansion (Guided Tour)

  • Capitol Building (Guided Tour)

  • Self-Exploration: Trade shops, reenactors, shopping

4:30 pm Depart for the Hotel: Great Wolf Lodge, 549 East Rochambeau Drive, Williamsburg, Virginia - 23188, 757-229-9700

  • Enjoy the Water Park

5:30 pm Dinner at the lodge

6:00 p.m. Drop off at Reading Terminal for Dinner and Exploring

7:30 p.m.  Depart for Hotel

  • Cyclorama

  • 2 Hour Battlefield Tour

  • Pick up Boxed lunches

12:00 pm Depart for Hershey Park Open 11 to 7 

1:00 pm Hershey Park

Shopping at Chocolate World (our meeting place) meet in the back where the dining is located within the store at 7:30 with your shopping already done.
